Even before retiring from the office supply
and stationery business, I was involved in craft shows, bazaars & boutiques.
Quality, handmade items have always had a special place in my heart
- and to be able to share my talents is very rewarding.
Over the years I've produced a number of craft items - doll clothes, holiday
decorations, fabric albums & musical gift bags. As the
"back to nature" movement progressed, I saw an opportunity
and started using handmade paper to cover albums, keepsake boxes, journals & wedding books. I also do gift totes
and shopping bags in various sizes. Customers often are the inspiration for
new items,
for example, picture frames, note pads and anything useful
round the home.
I enjoy the flexibility of my own hours, even though I probably spend more than
40 hour a week on crafts. There are many (too many) craft shows in
and around the San Diego, California area where my husband
and I live. I usually display and sell my collection
at about 30 shows every year.
My husband & I enjoy
traveling and plan our trips around craft shows. Our children are scattered
all over the U.S. - we even have a son in Egypt! Offering my
creations online allows us more time for "taking off" and
enjoying visits with our other precious creation - our
family.
